Want Different Tesla Cybertruck Colors? Wrapping It Might Be Your Only Option

by Denis Gurskiy

The Tesla Cybertruck certainly carries a look about it that no other vehicle going into production can match. An exposed metal that is essentially the body of the car and sharp angles give it a very strong “love it or hate it” quality. But while exposed metal does give it a very cyberpunk look, what if you want your Cybertruck to have some color?

Thankfully Elon Musk took to Twitter to answer that very same question that a user had, stating that “you will be able to wrap it in any color or pattern”.

It is important to remember the type of material that Tesla is using for the body of the Cybertruck:

Cybertruck is built with an exterior shell made for ultimate durability and passenger protection. Starting with a nearly impenetrable exoskeleton, every component is designed for superior strength and endurance, from Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel structural skin to Tesla armor glass.

If there was something better, we’d use it. Help eliminate dents, damage and long-term corrosion with a smooth monochrome exoskeleton that puts the shell on the outside of the car and provides you and your passengers maximum protection.

The problem is that is difficult to color, leaving the option of putting on a wrap as the only reliable choice. But given the wording of the response, it seems like you the customer will be responsible for wrapping your own Cybertruck. I especially doubt that Tesla will be able to offer customers “any color or pattern” regardless.

So at this point, it looks like the Cybertruck will indeed come in only the one color that it was shown during its presentation. I doubt it will be a dealbreaker for most, but some might lament that little piece of personalization they had with at least a choice of few colors. I cannot imagine that the cost of wrapping a car as big as the Cybertruck will be cheap either.

What do you guys think? Do you think there will be a limited number of colors from the factory, or is everyone stuck with the default color shown? Let us know down in the comments below.
