Tesla FSD Price Will Increase By ~$1000 on July 1st

Tesla Software Update V10

Tesla’s Full Self Driving (FSD) feature has been slowly gaining traction over the years as more and more features have been added to the package. With recent features like Tesla’s traffic light and stop sign recognition and response, the prospects of an actual working FSD system is gaining merit. To meet the growing feature list and further refinements of the system, Elon Musk recently confirmed that the package would be getting a price increase in a few months.

The Tesla FSD price has been a topic of debate for many years now. Some people took offense to having to pay for the full system even though all of its features have not been introduced. Others have been annoyed at Tesla’s constant price adjustments that did not seem to correspond to anything particular and would happen arbitrarily.

Regardless, Tesla has stated that the price of the package would continue to increase as it added more features and became more refined. The current price of the FSD package is $7,000 and for a while we knew that another price increase would happen on July 1st, but not by how much exactly. Recently Musk confirmed on twitter that the increase would be about $1,000, saying “Tesla Full Self-Driving option cost rises by ~$1000 worldwide on July 1st”.

Musk has also not shied away from talking about how much value the complete FSD system would be to Tesla and Tesla owners. Musk would again write that, “The FSD price will continue to rise as the software gets closer to full self-driving capability with regulatory approval. It that point, the value of FSD is probably somewhere in excess of $100,000.”

Now does Musk mean that when their FSD is able to meet Level 4-5 autonomy requirements that the system will actually be sold for $100,000 or is he saying that it’s value will be that much but the actual cost of the complete system will be available for less? Personally I hope its the later rather than the former.

Also, is that valuation based on Tesla having the only working autonomous system, or is every other company also going to sell their autonomous features for over $100,000?

What do you guys think of the pricing? Will a complete FSD feature set actually cost over $100k in the future? Will the price of competitors’ FSD systems also hit the six-figure range? Lets us know down in the comments below.
