Lucid Air to Be Fully Revealed on September 9th

The Lucid Air has had a lot of hype surrounding it as a very viable competitor for the Tesla Model S. The startup has had a lot of investments thrown its way and is headed by the former VP of Tesla Engineering during the Model S days, so overall a good recipe. We have been waiting patiently for the reveal of the Air to finally happen, and we finally have a date.

We should have already seen the electric car, as it was initially planned to make its debut during the New York International Auto Show in April, but as you know, that was canceled. Presumably not wanting to wait for the next major auto show, but also not wanting to reveal the electric sedan already (despite it being ready for reveal two months ago), Lucid announced that they would be holding an online reveal for the Lucid Air on September 9th.

In addition to seeing the final production interior and exterior of the car, there will also be new details on production specifications, available configurations, and pricing information being shared.

Lucid states that their 1,000+ employees have been returning to work in a phased approach, and not only were there no layoffs, but Lucid was proud to state that they hired over 160 people in the past three months. The company hopes to add 700 more employees by the end of the year.

Of course, they will need all those new employees to man their new factory in Casa Grande, AZ, which they state is the first US-based factory purpose-built for electric vehicle production (Tesla’s and Rivian’s were formally for ICE production). The company states that the factory will reach phase one of its production by the end of the year. What exactly that entails and what their production capacity will be at only phase one is unknown.

What are your guys’ predictions for the reveal? Let us know down in the comments below.
