If you are on the fence about electric vehicles and are in the area, this may be a good event to check out. What better way to get information than in a casual setting with owners of electric cars? It’s a great resource to have your ownership, incentive, and charging questions answered.
And even if you are a seasoned EV owner, it is still a good time to meet with like minded people and maybe make some friends.
The event is being hosted by EmPower Solar, which is a New York based solar panel provider since 2003. The company is a certified installer of the Tesla Powerwall, for those that are interested. EmPower’s Solar Design Center is also 100% powered by solar panels (which we would hope so, but its still good that they are committed to their product).
The other company hosting the event is California-based CALSTART. CALSTART is a non-profit that works with business, fleets, and government to develop and implement clean, efficient transportation solutions. Most of CALSTART’s work deals with commercial vehicle rather than personal vehicles. CALSTART’s has recently launched the Global Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero (D2Z) Program. “The Pledge focuses on eight global market segments for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. The goals are to achieve commercial success in each of these markets internationally by 2025, and have zero emission technology dominate new sales in these segments by 2040.” The Program already has some big signers which include several major US cities and large manufacturers.
Rest assured that the two companies behind this even will be more than knowledgeable for any questions you might have. These types of events are always a good way to help the adoption of EVs, so we are more than happy to share such events with our readers.
