The Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid was Hyundai’s first plug-in vehicle released. It was released during the second half of 2015 and like many other small volume PHEVs it was released in a limited amount of States in the US, namely California and 9 other states that had zero-emissions vehicle requirements. The Sonata Plug-in carried a 9.8 kWh battery that had an all-electric range of 0-28 miles as the car ran in a blended-mode and would have the gasoline engine supplement the battery. o if you were looking to be able to make short trips solely on electricity, this car might not be it. But its 600 miles of total range will get you pretty far if you so desire.
